Why flexible working is big in 2010
Tuesday, 27 July 2010
Freelancers already enjoy the benefits of flexible working – and it appears this trend is increasingly catching on.

Stephen Overell, associate director for The Work Foundation, discussed the reasons why those who combine their professional lifestyles with a relaxed desktop setting can reap the rewards. He said it is "no surprise" that flexible working has proved so popular, given many people's family commitments, among other recreational pursuits.

Mr Overell went on to add: "I think in the future we will see much more adoption of flexible working and many more different forms of flexible working."

Freelance consultants and contractors may agree with the sentiment and look for ways in which they can make the most of their home office environment.

For instance, it may be advisable to remove all unnecessary clutter and file documents in a labelled drawer as a means of boosting efficiency.

This way, contractors may be able to maintain a high project turnover.
